Springdale, AR - Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation (NWACF) enjoyed a busy holiday season as it elected six new board members and added three funds for a total of 69 funds by year's end. NWACF also received $265,000 in donations, pushing them over $6 million in endowment. The six new board members include William Jackson "Jack" Butt, II and Dan Ferritor of Fayetteville; Julie Roblee, J. Max Van Hoose, and Bob Shaw of Springdale; and Dick Trammel of Rogers.
"All six are recognized as leaders in their respective communities. Our board is encouraged by the success we have enjoyed in our short history. Donors are beginning to understand that we are a vehicle for connecting them to their charitable passion," stated Adrian Luttrell, Chairman for NWACF Board of Directors.
The three new funds include the Esch Family Fund, Reed Family Fund, and Bentonville Library Foundation. Peter and Shirley Esch of Springdale selected a donor-advised fund to encourage charitable giving by family members. Tom Reed of Springdale preferred the Horizon Fund as a way to build his family endowment over several years before recommending grants. The Bentonville Library Foundation chose to establish a fund for their pending capital campaign.
"Each one of our 69 funds has an individual purpose. NWACF is delighted that we can help individuals, families, organizations, and corporations find the right solution for their charitable giving," said Suzanne Ward, Executive Director.
