Springdale, AR— Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation (NWACF) recently added the Northwest Arkansas Crisis Intervention Center as a nonprofit endowment fund, bringing their total endowment to more than $8 million. The endowment for the Crisis Center comes from the hugely successful Charity Challenge of Champions Tennis Tournament held every year at Pinnacle Country.
"The Crisis Center Foundation was established to provide permanent, long-term financial support to the Northwest Arkansas Crisis Intervention Center. Our affiliation with Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation is a reflection of our confidence in their ability to help us meet our financial goals," explained Wayne Callahan, President of the Crisis Center Foundation.
Northwest Arkansas Crisis Intervention Center was founded in 1985 as a telephone hot-line for people needing emergency counseling or emotional support. It now serves people throughout the region with a wide variety of prevention, intervention and follow-up services. The Crisis Center Foundation was formed in 1997 as a means to build an endowment for the Center. Funds from the Charity Challenge of Champions are donated to both the Northwest Arkansas Crisis Intervention Center for immediate operating support and to the Crisis Center Foundation for endowment. Callahan explained their foundation has one large goal in mind.
"We plan to build the endowment fund to $1 million dollars, something we are absolutely on track to achieve in a few years," stated Callahan.
In turn, Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation expressed its delight at adding this latest nonprofit endowment fund.
"We feel extremely honored that their board chose to place their faith and fund with us.
The Crisis Center Foundation, along with Charity Challenge of Champions Tennis Tournament, is widely recognized for the good work they do in this region," said Suzanne Ward, Executive Director of NWACF.
Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation is a public charity, founded in 1999, whose mission is to connect donors to their charitable passions.
