Springdale, AR — On behalf of the Northwest Medical Center Auxiliary Fund, Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation awarded the following grants:

• Children's Safety Center - $6,550 to purchase equipment, materials, and activities for adolescents,
• Community Clinic at St. Francis House - $10,000 for specialist fees and hospital services,
• Horses for Healing - $10,000 for sponsorships for Washington County children,
• Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter - $15,000 towards emergency care,
• Northwest Arkansas Crisis Intervention Center - $10,000 for two educational programs: school resource officers and police and fire department command staff, and
• Ozark Guidance - $6,000 to purchase winter clothing and holiday gifts for children in Habberton House and other children's programs.

The Northwest Medical Center Auxiliary provides support to the community in several ways. With its fund at the foundation, it provides financial support to local nonprofit agencies. The Auxiliary's primary interests are health education, health and wellness, and human services, with a focus on vulnerable populations-especially children and families-in Benton and Washington counties.

Since the establishment of their fund at the foundation, the Northwest Medical Center Auxiliary has recommended more than $900,000 in grants to local nonprofit agencies that serve the targeted population.
