NWACF offers a wide range of giving options and vehicles to add to a named charitable fund or to establish a new fund at the Community Foundation. The Foundation is certified by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity. Consequently, donors are provided the maximum tax benefits allowed by law.
The process to establish a fund with NWACF is simple and can often be accomplished in one day. Here are the basic steps:
Define your charitable and financial objectives. Consider how you want your gift to be used, whether you want family members involved, and how involved you want to be in making grant choices.
Select the type of fund that matches your charitable interests.
Decide how much you want to contribute to charity for this year (or over the next several years) or determine how much you might set aside as an endowment to generate annual income for charitable giving.
Determine which asset you will use in creating your fund: cash, securities (publicly traded or closely held), real estate, or tangible personal property (such as art).
Choose a name for your fund. Many donors choose a family name, but you can use any name that's meaningful to you.
NWACF will work with you to customize a fund agreement based on all of the above. Once executed, your initial contribution can then be made.
Your decision to create legacy will make a difference in northwest Arkansas... forever.
