The Botanical Garden Society of the Ozarks is headquartered in Fayetteville. Their mission is to build and operate a botanical garden in northwest Arkansas. They were the first agency to begin building their endowment through the Horizon Society. On May 20, 2003 the Society completed their Horizon Fund due to a generous donor and received over $4,000 as part of the NWACF Agency Endowment Match Program.

The Botanical Garden Society of the Ozarks began in 1993. In 1998, the Society signed a 25-year renewable lease with the City of Fayetteville for use of 100 acres of city property for botanical garden development. That particular site is located between Springdale and Fayetteville on the south and southeast short of Lake Fayetteville.
