Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Benton County was founded in 1984 to enable single parents to attain self-sufficiency through post secondary education.
Designed to supplement existing government assistance, college grants and loans, the scholarships awarded by SPSF/BC encourages students to enter school and prevents them from dropping out because of unexpected financial hardships.
From the seven students in 1984, SPSF/BC has grown and today awards more than $400,000 in scholarships and provides self-improvement workshops, mentoring, tutoring, and personal and career counseling to more than 179 students each year.
100% of the donations go directly towards scholarship and student programs.
"I truly believe that without SPSF/BC
I would not be furthering my education
or I would be so deep in student loans
that I could not see the bottom of the
stack!" ...Nichole
