John Harrison Opera Foundation

Our mission is to promote opera in Northwest Arkansas.

We will promote opera by  educational outreach, the funding of scholarships, the funding of professional productions, and assisting with professional solo vocal recitals by established artists.

The newly-formed JOHN HARRISON OPERA FOUNDATION, in the development stages since 2006, is excited to offer in 2008 a Puccini Series to celebrate the 150th birthday of Puccini. We will screen the following, free of charge, to the public at the Fayetteville Public Library on Sunday afternoons.

Feb. 17, La Boheme, featuring Pavarotti and Freni.

March 30, Tosca, the Zubin Mehta production filmed live in Rome with Domingo and Catherine Malfitano

April 20, Madama Butterfly, 1983 open-air performance, Arena di Verona featuring Kabaivanska as M. Butterfly and Antinori as Pinkerton.

May 18, Turandot, Information to be announced.

Summer business occupying us, new projects being considered, we will bring out the fall Puccini series at the same venue in September.
