NWACF celebrated "Leaving a Legacy" with friends and those unfamiliar with the Foundation. Held in the new surroundings of the Springdale Country Club, keynote speaker Coach Frank Broyles spoke about his charitable passions, particularly the Alzheimer's Association. Broyles lost his beloved wife Barbara to the disease and is now devoting considerable energy and commitment to defeating the formidable foe.
Before introducing Coach Broyles, Community Foundation Chairman Jim von Gremp thanked the large gathering for this show of support. He also had a surprise announcement.
"I am pleased to announce that Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation will be kicking off our second agency endowment match program for $250,000 in the next few days. Almost four years ago, CommunityCare Foundation made a similar grant to us, and the result is that we now have 33 nonprofits endowments with us, which helped grow the Foundation an additional $2.5 million," stated von Gremp.
Currently, NWACF has 82 funds and an endowment of $8.3 million.
