Connecting Donors to their Charitable Dreams
This statement reflects the mission of Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation. During 2006, we saw our funds and endowment increase from $11.5 million and 93 funds to $14.2 million and 99 funds. A burning desire to promote philanthropy fuels every action taken.
One of our goals is to help philanthropists realize their dream of establishing funds that assist their community while receiving maximum permissible financial benefits. Several new donor advised funds have been established recently by individuals and families, including the Les and Julie Davis Family Fund.
As chairman, I am particularly proud of my fellow directors who raised more than $50,000 recently to fund the 2006/2007 Shared Gift Fund. Previously known as the Unrestricted Fund, the Shared Gift programs will fund worthy organizations in all four counties served by this foundation.
Your Community Foundation is very young, founded in early 2000. Northwest Arkansas's prosperity and growth today is due to the many entrepreneurs who had a vision and then worked hard to make that vision happen. We too have a vision - to build a better community for everyone through philanthropy. We aim to be the vehicle of choice for involving donors in improving northwest Arkansas.
We thank those who already share our vision and invite others to join us.
